At YMCA BC, we believe young ones deserve spaces where they can explore who they are and who they are becoming. G.L.O.W. (Girls’ Life of Wellness) is designed for young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 12 to empower them through leadership development, self-esteem building and community engagement.
G.L.O.W. (Girls’ Life of Wellness) supports young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 12 by exploring all five Dimensions of Wellness in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. Participants meet in person at the John Tod Y for weekly sessions that blend physical activity with wellness learning.
Each GLOW cycle is co-designed with participants so the program reflects their interests, strengths and questions. During the program, youth ages 8-12 meet in small in-person groups to have healthy skill-building (body image, healthy relationships, setting boundaries, puberty, morals/values) and participate in wellness activities.
The purpose of G.L.O.W. is to inspire girls in the community to grow in terms of their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
