
At the YMCA, we believe that aging should be supported with dignity, connection and opportunities to thrive. Aging Mindfully reflects this commitment by helping older adults strengthen their mental, physical and social well-being in a welcoming community.
This program supports older adults in adopting a mindful approach to everyday life. The program is designed to reduces stress, nurture emotional well-being, support cognitive health and encourage positive social relationships.
Aging Mindfully is a free, eight week program that strengthens mental wellness, physical health and social connection for adults ages 55 and older. Through guided movement, mindfulness practice, and shared group experiences, participants build resilience, confidence and a renewed sense of purpose as they navigate the transitions of later life.
This free program is currently offered in Kamloops.

Is this program only for YMCA members?
No. Aging Mindfully is open to the community and does not require a YMCA membership.
Do I need previous experience with mindfulness or fitness?
No. All activities are beginner friendly and can be adapted to your comfort level.
Will this program help with loneliness or isolation?
Yes. A core goal of the program is to build meaningful social connections and reduce feelings of isolation through shared group activities.
