
Healthy Hips, Healthy Knees (also known as Better Hips, Better Knees) is a physiotherapist supported circuit exercise program for people waiting for hip or knee replacement surgery, or those who are at least six weeks post operative. The program focuses on building strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance to support a smoother recovery and help reduce complications before and after surgery.

Is this program only for YMCA members?
No. The program is open to both members and non members. Nominal fees apply.
Do I need physiotherapy experience to join?
No. The program includes physiotherapist support and guided circuit exercises suitable for beginners and for those returning to movement after surgery.
Who is this program designed for?
Healthy Hips, Healthy Knees is for adults preparing for hip or knee replacement surgery, individuals who are at least six weeks post operative, or those living with hip or knee osteoarthritis who want guided, supportive training.
What can I expect in each session?
Sessions include a circuit of exercises that build strength, mobility, balance, and confidence. Instructors provide modifications and progression options based on individual needs.
