Build the skills and certification needed to responsibly support children in child care, schools, camps and other child-focused settings with this 20-hour self-paced online course.
The Responsible Adult Course is a self-paced online course that prepares participants to support children in safe, caring and developmentally appropriate ways. It is a valuable starting point for anyone interested in working or volunteering with children in child care facilities, schools, before- and after-school care, camps and other settings where children are present.
Although this course is designed to meet the criteria for Child Care Facilities Licensing in the province of British Columbia, anyone working with school-aged children will benefit from this course. If you would like to work in a licensed child care facility, you will require the Responsible Adult Certification and must be 19+.
This course is developed by YMCA BC and available through the YMCA BC Learn platform—a new online learning platform for continuing education, health and wellness courses, and employment supports.
