The Child Protection Course is an affordable, youth-friendly, online course designed to educate those working with children, on their responsibility to protect children and their duty to report concerns safely and appropriately.
The Child Protection Course helps young leaders on the front lines of child safety recognize abuse and understand their legal and ethical responsibilities in reporting it. Grounded in YMCA values and best practices in safeguarding, the course provides clear, practical guidance in a format that is accessible, supportive and respectful of the emotional weight of this topic.
It features practical, scenario-based learning grounded in real-world application and a youth-friendly, engaging course design. You’ll feel confident in knowing what to look for, what to document and how to report concerns when working with children.
This program is available online and can be taken anywhere in Canada.
This course is developed by YMCA BC and available through the YMCA BC Learn platform—a new online learning platform for continuing education, health and wellness courses, and employment supports.
