The Circle of Security Parenting Program helps caregivers build stronger, more secure relationships with their children through guided learning, reflection and supportive discussion. Grounded in attachment science and offered in an inclusive YMCA environment, the program strengthens parenting skills by helping caregivers understand their child’s emotional needs. Participants build confidence, compassion and practical tools for daily parenting challenges.
The Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Program offers weekly education sessions that help parents and caregivers better understand their child’s needs and strengthen secure attachment. It offers emotional support, teaching parents how to provide the emotional support their children need to develop secure attachments and resilience, which can be essential for school readiness and overall well-being.
This program also helps parents learn to recognize and respond to their children's signals for connection and support, enhancing thier ability to nurture their child's self-esteem and emotional regulation. COSP often includes group workshops where parents can share experiences, engage in discussions and set personal goals for improving their parenting skills.
