The pool at Cheam Leisure Centre is temporarily closed due to glass being found at the bottom of the pool following an unexpected incident last night.
Staff made an initial attempt to remove the glass, but more pieces were discovered during a follow-up inspection this morning. Following an assessment by our YMCA Facilities team, it has been determined that the pool must be drained, cleaned, refilled and inspected to ensure it is safe to reopen to the community. This process will take several days to complete and once we have a confirmed reopening date, we will provide an update. The safety of our patrons is our top priority and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
