Program Description

Our Pine Leadership Development program is a chance for youth to learn valuable leadership skills, gain volunteer hours and develop a sense of responsibility and initiative. The Pine Leadership program is divided into Pine Leadership 1 and Pine Leadership 2 and takes place at YMCA Camp Kanannaq in Prince George.

Program overview

During Pine Leadership 1 (LD1), campers focus on learning to lead activities and team building. Our Pine Leadership 2 (LD2) camp provides campers with the opportunity to take on more responsibility, help staff facilitate and plan activities and work with young campers.

Surrounded by 200 acres of lakefront property and vibrant forest, YMCA Camp Kanannaq offers a beautiful outdoor setting where campers can explore, learn and grow. With a scenic waterfront, forested activity spaces and welcoming shared areas, camp creates memorable experiences rooted in adventure, connection and a love for the outdoors.

  • Pine LD1 Session 1: July 6 – July 17
  • Pine LD1 Session 2: August 10 – August 21

Financial assistance
  • The YMCA raises money year round in order to offer financial assistance so that every child has the opportunity to attend camp
  • Financial assistance applications are open and will be accepted until two weeks prior to the requested session date
